This is an interesting one. You do not see what you want to see, you only see what you are prepared to accept. For example, if I went out to the shops with a friend of mine and I refused to look at any of the objects strewn on the floor, I would have no idea that my friend is buying a poodle! We all have our own biases. We think we see things correctly, but in reality we are only seeing the bits that fit into our world view.
